2018 Cretapaglia Strampalato
A blend of Magliocco and Mantonico Pinto.
Household names! The name means “crazy and a little bit strange”… Magliocco that ferments on Mantonico Pinto skins in Slavonian Oak barrels. The Mantonico has already fermented and been pressed separately before being added to the Magliocco. The wine spends 6 days on the skins and then ages for 9 months in stainless steel. Around 1000 bottles made. This wine is smoky and aromatic, savoury and herbaceous. Tannic but also vibrant at the same time. A wine that doesn’t follow normal standards and doesn’t want to be categorised!
