2018 Boomtown Red



A blend of Nero d’Avola and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Notes from Tim who makes the wine - This years red is fresher, more youthful offering, with vibrant fruit flavour, bright acid and ripe yet gentle tannin that looks equally at home in an esky as it does next to a plate of spaghetti . The cabernet was destemmed and fermented semi-carbonically over 12 days, whilst the Nero was destemmed and fermented in an open vessel for a similar duration. Both were pressed and settled before moving to Hogsheads for maturation over winter. Mid spring we racked and blended and made the call to bottle early to grab hold of that fruit/tannin and keep in lively. This is very much an any day of the week red… Primary enough to be hoovered, but just enough tannin and fruit weight to warm a lonely heart.
