There is no doubt that the natural wine movement has come of age in the Loire Valley, thanks in part to the work of Sébastien Bobinet and his partner, Eméline Calvez. Domaine Bobinet started in 2002, when Sebastien took over 1.8 hectares of vines and the cellar from his grandparents. This new cuvee of Chenin Blanc comes from younger vines on limestone soils. It is much less opulent than Les Gruches having been picked almost two weeks earlier to retain its freshness. It is pressed directly to old wood where fermentation takes place and the wine ages on lees for 6 months before bottling.
