2017 Little Things Sum Of Many
Shiraz was sourced from the Wood Vineyard in Clarendon which is nestled high up, overlooking the McLaren Vale. This south-facing vineyard was planted in limestone rich soils with pre-colonial clones in 1997 and has always been dry-grown. This fruit comes from the eastern edge as it slopes down towards a dam. Super vigorous and late ripening. 50% de-stemmed and 50% whole-bunch then pressed after 10 days. The Grenache was sourced from Maslin Beach. This fruit was picked 7 days later and was whole-bunch fermented. Finished off in old French barriques. The elegance and pure blue fruit of the Shiraz coupled with power and intense spice of the Grenache harmonise to produce a plush and round quaffer. A real crowd pleaser!
