2017 François Rousset-Martin Gravieres
François Rousset is producing some of the most captivating wines in the Jura right now, of that there is no doubt.
From old vines (50 years old); lovely vibrant nose of pear and green apple with a puff of chalk and minerals. Concentrated in the mouth, this is regal with long length and the finesse and quality of terroir is evident on the long finish. Super and will keep and keep. 2017 delivered extremely low yields and high ripeness, and the vineyards had five to ten hectoliters per hectare. The 2017 Côtes du Jura Chardonnay Gravières comes from gravel soils rich in limestone. It has ripe acidity and good volume without being heavy. This also matured in topped-up barrels for around 15 months.
