2016 Weingut Weninger Hochacker

Blaufränkisch is such an underrated grape variety.
It's kind of like a powerful Pinot Noir. This is no exception. From Burgenland in Austria, it's everything you'd expect. On the nose it's all sour cherry, black olives and dark berries. On the palate very it is so fresh and animating. Lots of fruit, racey acidity, and a mouthfull of spicy tannins.
