Syrah and pinot noir in the mix this year. A blended wine.
The syrah sees about 50% whole bunch, the pinot is 100% whole bunch. Naturally fermented, left on skins for about ten days. The wine is made from fruit that ‘doesn’t fit’ the single variety wines. All from The Wine Farm’s organic-farmed site.
Spicy, flinty, earthy and undergrowth scents over ripe red berries. It’s a heady perfume, a touch wild, very engaging. Creeps through the palate in a wash of crisp-edged, herb-tinged red berry fruits, bright, rough-silk textured, light, crunchy through its finish. One of those pitch perfect lighter weight reds with structure and deliciousness on its side. Excellent. Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
