The winery’s name comes from Pondalowie Bay, on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula!
The Pondalowie story began in the Barossa where the winemakers, Dominic and Krystina Morris met. The name Pondalowie comes from the bay in SA where they spent their end of vintage trip together. Whereas the actual winery now is in southern Victoria, Bambra in the Otway Ranges to be exact. 2016 Shiraz here, a varietal the winery has become synonymous with. Plenty of dark blue fruits to be seen here. A combination of French and American oak used, results in a lengthy fine beaded tannin. A shiraz to take to family dinner.
