Purveyors of fine grape juice
2016 Manon Geoponika adelaide hills, australia
$43

Named for one of the world’s first farm manuals (from Greek language) that describes early viticulture and farm lore of the Byzantine renaissance.
This wine comes from the Manon farm in Forest Range – it’s a place where organic-practice vigneron/farmers Tim Webber and Monique Millton live and turn the earth. Their life revolves around tending the farm and vines, making wine, growing vegetables, eking out life off their land. Holistic to the core. This wine is chardonnay and savagnin in an early picked styled. Incorrect bottle shot but you get the gist.
Peanut husk, sea spray, brown lime, citrus pith and floral characters. Lovely perfume. Agile, angular palate with saline acidity and firm, green apple juice character. Cheek puckering and mouthwatering, a delicious, aperitif style, but with much more charisma and gentle savouriness. When people ask ‘what is ‘energy’ in wine?’, show them this. Really good. Really, really good. Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
