All notes from winemaker James Erskine..: There are two important Shinyas in my world. In the hills of Adelaide there’s my buddy Shinya and there’s Shinya from La Pioche Bar in Tokyo. Both have been instrumental in their own ways for crafting my view of wine, drinkability and energy in wine and other crafts. This Cabernet Franc was inspired by our intern Antoine who was desperate to carbonically macerate some of our Cab Franc vineyard that goes into the Seaview Franc. The result a fruitful yet savoury expression of the Birdsey Block. Boom! This is a banger, thanks Antoine, thanks Shinya sans.
