2016 Geyer Wine Co. Muscat Alexandrie



Dave Geyer is Barossa-based but extends himself to source from the 80-year-old patch of muscat of Alexandria grapes that happen to be on Ashley Ratcliff’s Ricca Terra Farms vineyard.
It’s an increasingly popular locale; indeed, it would be quite fun to look at Brash Higgins, Unico Zelo, this wine and (I think) others alongside each other. This is more straight up and down, per se, than iterations from aforementioned producers, with 50% made in barrel and the wine seeing some lees time for complexity/texture.
