2016 Fall From Grace Nero d’Avola
Notes from Gill, the winemaker..: This is our 4th vintage of Nero from the Vale, we picked mid feb and the year gave us a beautiful mix of bright cherry fruit with savoury, dried herb characters and fresh acidity. Hand picked, a little whole bunch, nothing added and nothing taken away. Wild yeast ferment that started quickly and went through gently over 12 days. Spent a month in clay pots, basket pressed then went to old oak for 8 months. 20 parts sulphur added at bottling.
