Purveyors of fine grape juice
2016 Cantina Giardino TuTu campania, italy

This is fiano from Campania produced in cherry tree wood barrels.
It has four days pumped over skin maceration. This sat me back in my seat; the unusual (and quite lovely) scent of the wood is prominent in the wine, but the integration is all there. That old adage of ‘you learn something new every day’ sits well here. Right out of the box. The cherry trees are grown locally and the cooper is down the road. Idiosyncratic natural wines from Cantina Giardino.
Distinctive cherry scent, kirsch almost, then yellow stone fruits, ripe apple, lashings of ginger. Wild style, so intriguing. Palate is cherry-laced too, but there’s chalky, wild, zingy skeleton of fine chalky tannins, a gulpful of lemon-drenched apple flavours, incredible flow, structure and tension. Utterly intriguing, very delicious. Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
