Purveyors of fine grape juice
2016 Brash Higgins FRNC mcLaren vale, australia

Vines planted in 2001 on a site on Malpas Road.
All French oak though it only spent 9 months in barrel. 295 dozen. Been awhile since I’ve visited the Vale. Itching to get back.
This is the way it’s done. It’s beautifully fruited, structured, presented and finessed. It tastes of anise, boysenberry, dried herbs and dust, with clove, dark choc and earth characters floating throughout as well. But the flavours themselves aren’t really the thing. It’s the understatement of it, within a juicy context. It’s the clear impression that we’re enjoying the company of a cabernet family member, which just so happens to have its own take on things. I’d reach for this every or any day of the week. Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
