2015 Michel Bregeon Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie

The winery is based 30 minutes drive south-east of Nantes town, near Clisson Village - one of the Cru Classe from the Muscadet region.
Originally just 2.5 hectares of vineyard, today the estate has reached a total of 8.5 hectares. In 2011 Fred Lallier, a local, took over Michel’s vineyard. Michel has passed on his knowledge of the soil and winemaking skills to Fred. The winery is planted to 90% Melon de Bourgogne and 10% Gros Plant, with an average of 65 year old vines. The main characteristic of the white Muscadet is the age on lees. The “Sur Lie” technic refers to ageing without separating the wine from its lees, it adds roundness, complexity with great cellaring potential and without the use of oak maturation at all.
