Laureano Serres certainly represents the archetypal artisan winemaker. From his small estate in Pinell de Brai (Terra Alta), he produces small quantities of numerous cuvees. Every vintage brings new cuvees and new experiments. Laure is fascinated by the influence of terroir and each cuvée comes from a single plot. The approach is natural, yields are low, vinification involves minimal intervention and maturation occurs only in tanks. From 26 year old Macabeu vines and a clay/chalk soil in the Vilalba village, Abeurador is a rich, fruity wine with a salty acidity and a beautiful mouthfilling sensation. It is amphora fermented for 15 days.
