2015 Jean Yves Péron La Petite Robe
The Savoie has long been home to "tourist wines"... It is in the middle of one of Europe's most popular ski destinations. Thankfully homeboys like Monsieur Péron are here to save the day. He first started making wine in the Savoie in 2004, working with vineyards that had been pretty much untouched by anything other than a human hand for most of the 20th century. This wine is made from Jacquère - a white grape native to this part of the world. This is one of the most smashable wines in the shop. It's all tight acid and citrus flavours but with big mouthfeel, thanks to some light maceration. All it needs is you, a corkscrew and a tumbler.
