Purveyors of fine grape juice
2015 Eastern Peake Intrinsic Chardonnay ballarat, australia

From the family-farmed, estate vineyard outside of Ballarat town, planted in 1983.
The wine is naturally fermented, whole bunch pressed, sees 12 months in old oak, and no additions in winemaking.
Feels generous but vibrant/fresh at the same time. Perfume shows smoke, nougat, creamed corn, oyster shell-like mineral character, lemon curd and limey scents. Palate works some mouthwatering fruit thorough a sluice of light caramel and spice oak character. Oak is back seat really, the wine a flow of flavoursome stone fruity chardonnay character, with a line of grapefruit-meets-fino-like acidity cutting through. It’s a very good chardonnay, lots of interest, character and drinkability. Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
