2015 Domaine Mămărutá Trafalgar
Marc Castan founded Domaine mămărutá in 2009. Based in Fitou, he has two sites in La Palme and on the Leucate cliffs, which he has converted to organic (and is on his way to biodynamic certification). Whole bunches of Muscat à Petits Grains into fibre-glass tank with 8 days carbonic maceration. Fermentation is completed in old barrels and the wine is aged on its lees for 6 months before being bottled in the spring. Clean and precise with low acidity, fine texture, unripe tropical mango notes and an underlying minerality. No sulphur at any stage. Sunshine in a glass.
