Purveyors of fine grape juice
2014 Murdoch Hill Landau Syrah adelaide hills, australia

Murdoch Hill actually exists and sits behind the vineyard in a small pocket of the Adelaide Hills settled by a Scottish family, way back when.
Fine perfume. White pepper, red berry fruits, touch of briar. It’s very aromatic. All fruit and spice. Juicy in the palate but also trimmed and tucked in. Has a core sweetness of fruit, also some cedary/tobacco notes, feels sleek and finishes long and with an amaro edge of acidity. Tannins are smooth, the wine feels glossy and vibrant. It’s a fine feel here. Alongside the fresh bottle, I tried a second bottle that had been open a day or so – it resolves itself some more, tighter in tannin, a little more herbal edge, pucker and chew through the finish. The extra day has taken it to another level; more complex is the idea. Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
