Purveyors of fine grape juice
2014 I Veroni Chianti Rufina chianti classico, italy

Chianti. Organic. Not much new oak. Younger-drinking, fresh-feeling styles. Well, I never.
Big hit of amaro and fennel-mint herbal stuff in the bouquet, but you also get squashed raspberry, black pepper and some earthy root vegetables. In the palate, unexpected plushness and ripe fruit character, crispness of acidity, touch of dusty/dryness to finish that distracts, but has that Chianti drag and drawl of tannin to remind you that pizza and red pasta sauce shouldn’t be far away. It’s a guzzler. Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
