Purveyors of fine grape juice
2013 Domaine Jean Yves Péron Champ Levat savoie, france
$65

Drunk in a park as the sun went down, with friends and dog, from plastic picnic Riedel O-glass style cups.
It’s light-on and crisp, very peppery, fresh-fruited in a green plum and light black cherry kind of way. There’s dried herbs and a whiff of thyme, lots of spice and a sour-sweetness throughout perfume and palate. A fine sprinkle of chalky tannins makes the wine finish in a just-chewy pucker, joined by refreshing cranberry-like acidity. Almost transparent in texture, vibrant and so easy to drink. Afternoon drinking personified, and better yet with charcuterie or similar. Wicked. Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
