Purveyors of fine grape juice
2012 La Sorga Noselut languedoc rousillon, france

Sauvignon blanc 65%, chardonnay 35%, but not as you’d know it.
Winemaker Antony Tortul tends to think outside of the box, working his wines in, or letting them be, in ways most wouldn’t feel confident. In Tortul’s worlds, ‘no sulphur or filtration or anything else for that matter’. He produces some forty-odd cuvees each year, sourced from organic vineyards around Languedoc, usually from the fringes. This is a petillant naturel style wine, still fermenting in bottle. Exciting producer.
Smells like pear and BBQ’d limes. Super tangy, vibrant and fresh, very dry, almost farmhouse cidery chalkiness through the finish. Straight up. really delicious. It’s got mad angles and needles the palate, and vibrant sherbetty acidity sets the wine off. Oh, and it’s gently fizzy too, an intent of the live-to-bottle ferment activity here. Pretty wicked wine.
