2010 Paolo Bea Pagliaro Montefalco Sagrantino
From deep in the hills of Montefalco in the central Italian province of Perugia, father and sons Paolo, Giampiero and Giuseppe Bea produce some of Italy’s most powerful and age-worthy wines. 100 % Sagrantino planted in eastern to western facing cordon trained vines planted 400 metres above sea level in the clay soil of the Pagliaro vineyard. Hand harvested and fermented on skins for 31 days then aged 11 months in stainless steel, 36 months in large format old Slavonian oak. No sulphur dioxide added. 15015 bottles produced.
