Mas Coutelou is run by Jean François Coutelou, but we just call him Jeff.
The domaine is located in the heart of the Languedoc in Puimisson, and has been certified organic since 1987. The soils of this areas vary, but clay-limestone is the most common. The wines are vibrant, fresh and share a unique energy. At Mas Coutelou, they view cuvees as siblings from the same parents. All growing up in the same home but, developing with different characters as time goes by. All wines are made without any SO2 added, even at bottling. 100% Macabeu here. 6 months on fine lees. Fresh as a daisy, yet loaded supreme tension and finesse. Drink now or cellar. Either way it's a great decision.
