2018 Maxime-François Laurent Il Fait Soif
The iconic Domaine Gramenon originates back in 1978 when Philippe Laurent and Michele Aubery-Laurent purchased 12 hectares of vines and an old barn. This is produced in a similar fashion to the ‘Poignée de Raisins’ but is from Maxime's uncle’s vineyard in nearby Valréas and is composed of Grenache and Syrah. It is another success in 2018 with all the freshness and finesse you would expect from a wine made at Gramenon. This wine has a bit more body than the Poignee - not a bad thing in 2018 - and is dangerously delicious, as you might expect from a wine christened – “it’s thirsty time”.
