This is the original wine of the now infamous Basket Range region.
It's not common knowledge, but only a couple of the 10 or so winemakers that claim this small town as home actually have vineyards in the sub-region. Phil Broderick (Sholto and Louis' dad) was one of the first people to have a vineyard up there - and has been making these super elegant claret styles for a long time. We love it. Clean and robust. Excellent viticulture and technique.
