The Coutier family has been in Ambonnay since the early 1600's but until 1901, they were selling the majority of their top quality fruit to Charles Heidsieck (of Piper-Heidsieck).
René-Henri Coutier has managed the label since 1971, overseeing a conversion of all of their sites to organic farming practices in the last few years. This stellar release is made with Grand Cru fruit from the village of Ambonnay with 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. It's rich, full, creamy Champagne with brioche, lemon, apple, stone fruit, raspberry and nutty characters. Abosolutely sensational bubbly from this amazing family-run Champagne house!
