Purveyors of fine grape juice
2015 Muster Gräfin styria, austria

Gräfin, which translates to ‘countess’, is also called ‘Orange Wine’ due to the maceration over several weeks with the grape skins and a certain amount of grape stems.
The grapes come from the steep slopes of the Graf vineyards, with a scant lime marl soil. They are hand-picked, and after a spontaneous fermentation for 2 to 4 weeks in large wooden vats and casks, the wine in aged for 2 years in casks. Minimal or no use of sulphur, no filtering, no fining. This wine has intense tannins, but remains soft and full-bodied.
